Issued by the Province of Canada in 1852, this 3-pence stamp carries Sandford Fleming’s iconic Beaver design, first introduced on Canada’s inaugural issue in 1851. Printed on wove paper, this attractive later printing offers an affordable way to own the classic design, as examples of the original 1851 issue on laid paper can command many hundreds of pounds. A very fine used example with four margins, strong colour and an attractive concentric-circle cancellation.
